Glossary
I like to make up words, and no one else knows what they mean. Here are some definitions.

alagar
part of the old amphibious family law, or the Cal Carar. The alagar is the elder sibling sworn to protect the alavan and assure a good life. Commonly five years older and never finds a partner, nor has children.
alavan
part of the old amphibious family law, or the Cal Carar. The alavan is the younger sibling, protected and raised by the alagar. The alavan is traditionally the family's heir and is encouraged to get an education and create a family.
amphibian
the most common and diverse subspecies of Organus. Colors range from red-yellow. A rarer magenta color is also possible. Mallowpons are commonly found to be a yellow-green to bright green color. Can go without water for three days. Thrive on land and in freshwater.
bilheirt
a less common regional variant of binheirt. Instead of a stomach, meat and other types of food are stuffed in dough and eaten before the bread is fully cooked.
binheirt
the stomach of a young mud cow usually stuffed with fish/meat. While mud cows' stomachs are often used, salamanders and eels can also be used. Of Deepie origins. A Dilepon version of the food contains jrink noodles.
bull eel
a common freshwater eel. Known for its stubborn and sometimes aggressive behavior. Someone being a bull eel is a way to call someone stubborn or stuck in their ways.
cal carar
The old amphibious ways. The idea that while the parents work towards basic needs such as food and shelter, the older sibling, usually by five years, will nurture, educate, and support the younger sibling. Originally created as less of a rule and more of a recommendation, it bled its way into the culture, and in modern days it is uncommon to find an amphibian family that does not practice Cal Carar. Some other races have joined in as well. While it is a very lax ideal and can be broken with little consequences, some, such as the Traditionals, take Cal Carar extremely seriously.

a long, somewhat flat fish with a dumb look plastered on its face.
creoup
universal amphibious monetary system. Mallopon and dilepon republic systems may differ within their borders, but creoup conversion is easy and is generally accepted. Triangular pieces that snap together in 5’s to create coins with a hole in the center. There are 1, 10, 20, and 100 variants.
coral’s doom
a powerful powder made up with a bone from the back of a singing eels skull. Created by the Deepie Patron, Lumajia, it is said to heal all open wounds. The other ingredients for this powder includes eels fodder, deep sea lantern grass, and the stomach of a snow maou.
corapon
the desert amphibians. Smallest population, yet the oldest to inhabit dry land. Colors come in yellows, oranges, and browns.
corapon fruit
a light pink, juicy fruit with a pit. Found only in the desert republic. Can be used in almost anything. Named after the people it brought wealth to.
courses
classes intended to educate orgonus. Some courses can take up to 10 years, while others may take only a few months. Many courses can be taken at the same time, but there is usually a main one that the orgonus is focused on. Each course has one teacher, and the teacher only has 20-30 students. the whole group becomes closer the longer the course is held. They have many social events related to the subject.
deepie
the subspecies with the largest amount of land, although it's mostly submerged in water. Colors range from green-pink. The only species to have full control of their bioluminescence. Thrive in salt water and estuaries.
deepie monarchy
the deepie royalty. Split into the northern country, which includes the gulfs, bays, estuaries, and deltas, and the southern country, which includes the trenches and open ocean. A queen sits at the throne as a figurehead that keeps the two countries in tandem.
delipipus
the Freezer Patron. Preached of different types of development and agriculture. Encouraged the creation of Merchants Dialect
desert republic
the corapon government. Is considered part of the amphibious empire and falls under the rule of the Emperor, but it has its own government. They do not have a Council Member in the empire. Any laws that pass in the Council go to the Republic. Any laws passed originally in the Republic do not go to the Empire.
dilepon
the bog, marsh, and valley amphibians. They make up the majority of the amphibian population
divitvo
tundra freezer monetary system, made of bills and coins.
eels fodder
An amphibious algae that grows in any humid environment. Associated strongly with Rhenomah. Produces a very mild high when smoked and is commonly used as a scent in candles. It produces a rich smell similar to cedar and pine.
fijioura
the southern deepie monetary system. Bills made of seaweed paper.
fish eggs
palm-sized fish eggs laid by the jackaray. While they can be eaten raw, it is common to candy or ferment them. They may also be stuffed with krill, shrimp, or other types of meat.
fish grass
known as different things in different regions, fish grass is an extremely common aquatic plant. Found all over the word, hunting in fish grass is the basis of most organic hunting techniques. Grows up to two feet in freshwater and up to twenty feet in salt water. All orgonus subspecies’ hair have evolved to best match the fish grass in their environment.
flood
a unit of time. There are two tides in a flood. One flood is approximately 10 ½ months.
freezer
the most uncommon species of Organus. Colors can be any pastel or light neutral. Darker colors such as brown or black are possible but uncommon. Only other species of Organus that has bioluminescence, but it can not be controlled. Thrive in cold snowy weather.
ganav
the mark in a name that identifies the organus as an alagar. If Cal Cara is refused, the name will be shortened to whatever comes before the ganav. This mark swaps the first syllable in the name with the last, as well as minor tweaks that follow no certain rule. This way, an orgono may be recognized as an alagar . Ex- Asalt to Atl’as
gingil
the official Deepie language. One of the four Merchant Dialects created after Delipipus’ disappearance. Gingil is a mix of multiple Deepie languages.
gyrofillium
a common fiber that is essential to many forms of Organic life. It is considered an extremely strong insulator, but is also highly reactive. When it comes in contact with Calcicol, gyrofillium releases all its heat. When exposed to Jaxamora, it reacts and burns, creating a glow. While Calcicol is found wherever there is Gyrofillium, Jaxamora is only found in certain plants and animals, and the Freezer and Deepie populations.

large, terrifying seal-like monsters that roam the southern oceans.
ice pup
small seal-like creatures that resemble sharks. Slow on land but very speedy in water, ice pups are common freezer hunting companions.
jackaray an eel-like fish with a narrow snout and sharp teeth. Halfway down the body are two fins. A crest runs from their forehead to the underside of their body. Usually 4-5 feet long and lay a treat commonly called fish eggs
jrik
A type of thick noodle found in southern Dilepon and other amphibious cultures. Made from reeds and often seasoned with Malka’s Dress
kiji
a general term for both kijioura and fijilora, the northern and southern deepie monetary system. Both are bills made from seaweed paper and are water resistant. They come in 1, 5, 10, 15, 20, 50, 100, and 500 variants. Depending on the economic system, their value may not be equal, but as a general rule, kijioura and fijilora are close in equal value.

korakov
the universal language. Made up of a mix of Ponsol, Lithinus, and Gingil, Korakov is spoken across the continent. The fourth language in the Merchants Dialect.
lantern grass
a sea grass that grows in saltwater caves. It is the only known plant to have gyrofillium and access its bioluminescence. It is carnivorous and uses the gyrofillium bulbs (similar to a deepies’ antennae) to lure in small fish. It is too small to hurt an Orgono. Lantern Grass Gardens are common attractions found in the Deepie Monarchy.
lithinus
the official Freezer language. One of the four Merchant Dialects created after Delipipus’ disappearance. Lithinus is a mix of multiple Freezer languages.
lumajia
The Deepie Patron. Known as an extremely able healer and creator of Corals Doom. Their prophets are said to communicate by adventuring into trenches and caves and simply letting themselves get lost. It is said the longer they are down there, the more Lumajia has spoken to them.
laxpoll
medium sized reptiles similar to cats covered in dry scales. Laxpolls make common pets and are found wild in rural areas across the continent. Long legged leopard gecko running on cat software.
mallopon
the jungle amphibians. Found only in one spot, the mallopons are the most advanced of the amphibians with a long history of innovation.
malstraap a common amphibious hunting trophy. Usually a long strip or string of leather. After a successful large hunt, the one who killed the prey takes the largest or most impressive tooth out of it and attaches it to the leather. Common in older times and currently in rural areas, a malstraap is worn to brag of their hunting abilities.
malka’s dress
a hanging moss that thrives in swamps and hot, humid areas. Most commonly found in the southern Dilepon country.
merchants dialect
a group of three local languages that funnel into one universal language. Encouraged by the Freezer Patron and created by a merchants guild, Korakov, Lithinus, Ponsol, and Gingil are the four most common languages on the continent.
mud cow
A large, furry animal that moves in herds. Commonly found in the northern parts of the Deepie Monarchs Rule. Extremely strong, mud cows are ridden in both water and on land. They are most commonly used for meat. Records say that the second Rhenomah ordered that the deepie military ride mud cows instead of salamanders.
organic
a term to describe something familiar; of this land. Imperfect but able to carry on and fulfil a purpose. And equivalent to saying “we’re all human.” Is used to describe anything familiar, not just Organus.
organica tree
a type of light brown tree very important to the dilepon religion. Its branches grow in a spiral pattern and produce a light pink flower in late lowtide.
ponsol
the official amphibious language. One of the four Merchant Dialects created after Delipipus’ disappearance. Ponsol is a mix of multiple Amphibious languages.
pup
young children, or an affectionate term for someone. Can be used romantically, familially, or platonically
pyian
amphibious alcohol that is made with rice and occasionally other grains. commonly paired with jackaray eggs.
rhenomah
The Amphibious Patron. Also called The Amphibious Devil. A polarizing figure who was known as a war hero and preached of peace. Associated with smoke, specifically that of burning eels fodder. His prophets doze around a fire burning an arrangement of herbs. It is said he appears from the smoke and speaks to you.
rou berry
A yellow oblong berry that comes at the beginning of Hightide. The white Rou Flowers bloom in late Lowtide leaving the fruit behind. They grow anywhere humid and most commonly on a river bank. They are said to have a bittersweet taste with a dash of cinnamon. The pits of the berries are collected and ground up into rou.
rou
A drink has a cinnamon taste with hints of the bittersweet berry that it came from. A common caffeinated drink. The most popular versions are from Amphibious origin, but Deepie and southern Freezer versions are often available as well.
salamander
A large, blue reptile with long legs and a long, flexible neck. Commonly ridden in the Amphibious Empire and in some parts of the Deepie Monarchy
sea dweller
the mysterious, rare, and elusive organic forms that live in the deep sea. Able to handle water pressure that most organic forms cannot. All attempts at contact have been ignored or met with hostility.
singing eel
a large, elusive eel that lives in deep caves. The singing eel is portrayed as a major deity in many ancient religions. Made of mostly cartilage, there is a bone on the back of the skull about half the size of a palm. It is said that lumajia, the deepie patron, crushed up this bone and used it to create Coral’s Doom, a legendary medicine that can cure all.
snow maou
a large predator that roams the Freezer tundra. It is one of two known mammals, other than Orgonus, to have a full set of semi-retractable teeth. The population has dropped severely due to poachers selling their stomach for an ancient Deepie medicine.
tide
a unit of time. There are two tides in a flood, Lowtide is equivalent to winter/spring, Hightide is equivalent to fall/summer. Each tide is approximately 5 ¼ earth months. The waters flood dramatically at Hightide and recede at Lowtide.
tillip tail
A small, flat, fish found in the southern oceans. While they’re too meager to use as food, their blood is used in the ancient Deepie medicine, Corals Doom.
the second rhenomah
the son of an enslaved freezer and amphibian rebel soldier during the Corapon Invasion named after the amphibious devil Rhenomah. Snuck out into the wilderness and raised by extended family, Rhenomah brought the downfall of the Corapon Invasion and ran them back to the desert. Rumors say he was a reincarnation of Rhenomah, come to seek his revenge and fulfill his last words. The second Rhenomah, however, claimrf that the only thing they share is a name.
tom cloak
a circular cloak made by some northern Kzakan cultures that use embroidery and beading to tell an individuals full life story. This cloak is given to a pup at birth and is edited and worked on until their death. They cherish it with pride and wear it to religious events and other formal situations. After death, it is stitched to a quilt of cloaks from other diseased community members. These tom quilts act as phenomenal method of record keeping, with some going back thousands of years.
traditionals
members of any organic race that strictly follow Cal Carar. These orgono are known to be strict and very set in their ways. Anyeone who breaks or refuses Cal Carar is shut off. If an alagar refuses Cal Carar, their name will be shortened to the first three letters, or what comes before the ganav. Ex- Zaj’ora to Zaj.
vaach muls
a vaach muls is a small, hand carved wooden toy that is given to Kzakan pups upon reaching an age of maturity (usually around 5-7 tides). While cultures may differ in exact details, it is most often a vaach eel (hence the name) with fabric fins and frills. This is kept until death, where a ribbon is attached to the end and trinkets, photos and mementos that remind others of the diseased individual are hung. The vaach muls is then hung from a wall or ceiling in a public place, as the eyes of the vaach muls are believed to be a vessel for the soul to watch over their family.
vaalpa
an traditional amphibious pot that sits at the foot of the door in a dwelling for the guests to drop creoup into to show thanks to their host. It is considered rude or ungreatful to drop too much creoup, and fake to drop creoup when visiting under negative, bad, or serious circumstances.
voccies
Freezer alcohol with a faint vanilla flavor. similar to vodka and made in a similar way. Voccies is different from the southern variant, Voctepla, because Voccies are fermented with bone marrow.
