Kylie May and the forest of kelp
Kylie May's journal
Kylie May and the Forest of Kelp is part journal, part pseudo comic that tells the story of Baphmaal from Kylie's point of view. It is in a small, black moleskin journal and was made for my "Art of the Graphic Novel" class in the 2023 Spring semester. I received a 99, and this lovely note from my professor :)
Since this was a physical project, I had to turn it in to my professor to get graded. I emailed him to retrieve it after spring break, and low and behold, his office had flooded and things got destroyed. I thought it was a fitting fate. The end of Baph's legacy would (in some weird mix of our reality and the Organics universe) end drowned in dirty water. Kylie May would be rolling in her grave (if she were dead, at least. She die's some time in the 2070's, so she's just. Rolling in her apartment right now). But turns out he found it. It was just water damaged- the moisture is still felt between the pages. Probably will be like that forever. I think it's fitting. Adds to the ambiance! I was able to get it from his office and we had a wonderful discussion about my brain rot and how much his approval meant to me, seeing that it was the first time these guys had been shared outside of my immediate friend group. Below you will find a scan of every page, so that you may read it, to! Alternate text is provided, since my handwriting can get a little janky at times. |
Alas, I am yet to scan and import Kylie May's Journal! This page will be updated when I have done so!
